The councilors of the Popular Party in the City Council of San Bartolomé regret "the lack of sensitivity of the socialist government of Isidro Pérez with the cultural and artistic community of the municipality by refusing to promote the construction or purchase of a rehearsal space to ensure that the groups have a space for this purpose".

For the municipal spokesperson, Jeziel Martín, the government's refusal to the PP's proposal is "a slap in the face to the municipality's groups" who have been making this demand for years. "From the PP we carry out periodic rounds of meetings with musical and cultural associations to update their needs, and if there is a demand that they all have in common, it is precisely the lack of a rehearsal space that has the optimal acoustic and space conditions for it," explains the councilor.

During his plenary intervention, Martín defended that "the City Council has the economic and logistical capacity to meet this demand, facilitating the construction or acquisition of a municipal rehearsal space that offers a dignified and accessible space for all groups".

"Investing in culture is investing in the development and well-being of society, and providing a suitable place for musical practice is a fundamental support for creativity, artistic training and the cultural identity of the municipality," said Jeziel Martin, who highlighted the "great cultural and associative tradition linked to music and the performing arts of San Bartolomé".

From the Popular Party they consider that "the problems that the groups have to carry out their rehearsals in suitable spaces represent an important limitation to their work and their own development".
