The motion of censure presented last Friday by Coalición Canaria, PIL, PNL, and PP in the Cabildo to remove the PSOE from the government is pending a report from the secretary of the first institution of Lanzarote, which will determine if its presentation was correct or not. If it is finally ratified, it will be debated next Thursday, October 15.
The parties that presented the motion hope that the secretary will give his approval, ratifying the action of the acting secretary, who was the one who processed it last Friday. However, they must overcome some obstacles first. The problem is that the candidate they propose for the presidency of the Cabildo, that is, Pedro San Ginés (CC), should be the head of the list of his party, a fact that may not be fulfilled. Although Fajardo Feo resigned from his position as councilor last week, this has not yet been officially ratified in a plenary session, so he continues to be a councilor and, therefore, would still be the head of the list.
Therefore, at this moment, we are waiting for the secretary to issue a report, in which the validity or not of the presentation of this motion of censure is exposed. The councilor and secretary of Organization of Coalición Canaria, Marci Acuña, has expressed confidence that "there will be no problem" and has assured that on Friday the acting secretary informed him that the motion "met all the requirements." "We understand that we have complied with all the established parameters," he indicated.
Marci Acuña has insisted that this controversy with the motion of censure is "the beginning of a tantrum from the PSOE, who does not want to let go of the seat." "What the PSOE has to do is facilitate that, once a majority of councilors is constituted, the act of consideration of that majority can take place," he defended.
In this sense, Acuña has pointed out that the socialists "intend to entrench themselves in power and not respect the majority that has been formed and that, in addition, has the right to establish itself legally in a plenary session."
Correcting the "basic defect"
For its part, the PSOE has presented this Monday a request to the secretary of the Cabildo, in which it is requested that the "basic defect" of the motion of censure be corrected, which refers to Pedro San Ginés. "He does not meet the conditions to be the head of the list, because the resignation of Manuel Fajardo Feo has not yet materialized," defended councilor Joaquín Caraballo, who has demanded that this error be "rectified and corrected."
Likewise, Caraballo wanted to comment on the words of Marci Acuña and has assured that this can only be pronounced by "someone who has a forked tongue." "It seems stupid on the part of Coalición Canaria to want to argue that this is a tantrum, when they know perfectly well that they have violated the rule," he affirmed.
"Bad start for CC to want to start this new cycle directing the Cabildo by violating the rule," criticized the socialist.
