The Mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, describes as "reckless and irresponsible" the behavior of the PP spokesperson for Tías, José Francisco Hernández, who has questioned the legal security of the Rehabilitation Plan for the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen, even saying that he fears it will end up bogged down in the courts of justice and hinder its development and execution.
Cruz Saavedra is surprised by these statements with which, in his opinion, the PP "intends to demotivate potential investors in the area, building discourses of legal insecurity in a Plan that has been made expressly for the opposite".
The Mayor of Tías maintains that this Modernization Plan complies with the objectives of the Law on Urgent Measures of the Government of the Canary Islands, has complied with all the required requirements and has had the approval of the highest Urban Planning body in the Canary Islands.
Cruz Saavedra highlights the commitment of the Government of the Canary Islands so that Puerto del Carmen has the best infrastructure and the best regulatory framework for its development. On the other hand, he questions the attitude of the PP, which, "far from being happy that the area finds channels for modernization, is dedicated to scaring away, without arguments, the possible actions that are going to be executed."
"I understand that it must bother the PP that we are capable of leading the renovation of Puerto del Carmen, but when we talk about things as important as this, we must prioritize the general interests over the partisan ones," says the mayor.
