The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium has announced the awarding of a new fire truck. The truck, equipped with an articulated and compact 32-meter ladder, will allow the Lanzarote fire department to face fires and rescues at height with greater efficiency and safety.

In the plenary session of May 15, the purchase contract was awarded for a value of 815,340 euros. The tender, published on January 28, 2024, allowed the submission of offers until March 4.

The president of the Consortium, Francisco Javier Aparicio, highlighted the importance of this acquisition: "With this new vehicle, our emergency response capacity is significantly improved, expanding our fleet and offering greater security and efficiency in our interventions. It is a fundamental step to guarantee the protection of our citizens,” he said.

With this new award, the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium underlines its continuous commitment to improving resources and equipment dedicated to the protection of the Island and its inhabitants.

The purchase of the vehicle has been fully financed by a grant from the Island Council of Lanzarote.
