The first assessments of the strike that non-university teachers are carrying out on this Friday could not be more disparate. While the unions speak of a follow-up of more than 80, the Government has provided very different figures.
By Islands, and according to the data made public by the Ministry of Education, in Lanzarote the strike has been supported by 46.78% of teachers (631 teachers), being one of the lowest percentages of adhesion in the archipelago. Government data also indicate that 64.06% of the teaching staff in Tenerife support this strike, which represents 3,039 teachers; in La Palma, this incidence has been 65.89%, which represents 367 teachers; in La Gomera, the strike has been supported by 56%, which represents 140 teachers; in El Hierro, the incidence has been 36.94% (about 58 teachers); in Gran Canaria, it has been 61.02% (3,247 teachers); and in Fuerteventura, the strike has been supported by 53.49% of the teaching staff (429).
In any case, the data is pending updating as the day progresses, as the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands continues to evaluate the follow-up of this strike.
