The municipality of Tías will host this year's eighteenth Christmas Gymnastics Festival, which will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 p.m. The Councilor for Education of the Arrecife City Council, Francisca Toledo, has assured that this change of scenery "has nothing to do" with the fact that the Argana Alta pavilion lacks an opening license, but because this infrastructure "is not in a condition" to host "a great event" after the recent rains, which strongly lashed this capital neighborhood.

"Like the whole neighborhood, several rooms got wet with the rains and the pavilion was not in condition. With this festival, it is filled with people and just in case it was requested to Tías and it is there where it will be held", Toledo indicated. In addition, the councilor pointed out that the heavy rains of November 26 also caused the fall of part of the false ceiling, just above a part of the stands. "The ceiling got wet and there is dampness," he stated.

However, it is still open and still has activity. "There are trainings because the problem with the ceiling has nothing to do with the court, it does not affect where they play. It is not unsafe for those who train, otherwise we would have closed it on the spot."

But, the councilor did not want to hold a "big" event in this pavilion due to the ceiling problem. "I spoke with Councilor Migdalia Machín and told her that it was a recommendation not to hold the festival in this pavilion, that we did not want to take risks, although surely nothing was going to happen. I told Migdalia and offered to speak with Tías. And there was no problem at all, it was requested and Tías accepted", indicated the Councilor for Education.

On the contrary, Francisca Toledo has assured that this decision "has nothing to do" with the fact that the pavilion does not have an opening license. "The problem of the license also has the municipal swimming pool. Some understood that it was not necessary to obtain the permit because they were municipal buildings", he pointed out.

Precisely, the former municipal secretary of Arrecife, Asenet Padrón, who is currently responsible for Classified Activities, warned that the municipal swimming pool did not have a license, as is the case in the Argana pavilion.
