The Canary Coalition Assembly in Tinajo has decided to revalidate Luis Miguel Pérez Berriel as head of the Local Secretariat, after the unanimous vote of all the members gathered this Thursday at the Yacomar Sociocultural Center in La Vegueta.
The act was attended by the island secretary of the nationalist formation on the island, Migdalia Machín, who highlighted the local secretary's closeness, as well as his involvement and commitment to the party, in addition to pointing out that Tinajo is a benchmark within the Canary Coalition. “We continue with this renewal process that is vital for our political organization to continue growing,” he said.

Also attending were the Secretary of Organization, Echedey Eugenio, the Secretary of the Nationalist Youth of the Canary Islands (JNC), Jesús Machín Tavío, and the Secretary of the Nationalist Youth of Lanzarote (JNL), Sara Bermúdez, as well as the local secretaries of
Tías, (Sandra Rodríguez), Yaiza (Mateo Ramón), San Bartolomé (Eduardo Díaz), Teguise (Antonio Callero), Haría (Víctor Robayna) and the local secretary and deputy secretary of Arrecife (Orlando Umpiérrez and Jacobo Lemes). Among the public officials, the mayor of Tinajo was present,

After his election, Pérez thanked his Committee colleagues for the trust placed in him to continue the work that has been carried out over the last four years, convinced that “I still have a lot of work to do for this municipality and
I will continue to do so from the best political organization, for its way of understanding our people, our culture and our idiosyncrasy.”

In the same way, after highlighting the relevance of the Local Committee he chairs within the nationalist organization on the island, Luis Miguel Pérez highlighted the importance and work of the Machín family and recalled that “we can boast of having numerous relevant organic positions, such as an island Secretariat that, for the first time in the history of the party in Lanzarote, is held by a woman who is also young, and the secretary of the Nationalist Youth of the Canary Islands also belongs to our Committee”.

In his management report, Pérez emphasized the difficulties that the Canary Coalition is encountering in the Tinajo City Council in order to fulfill what was promised in its electoral program. “We are making real efforts not to fail our voters. We are going through a difficult time due to the pandemic and the government cuts are not making it easy,” he said. In this sense, he stressed that “we have stopped receiving almost one and a half million euros per year, and to that we must also add the cut in the money we received from the Mountains of Fire. However, we continue working with more enthusiasm than ever and reinventing ourselves so that before 2023, some of the promised works will be completed and others will have already begun”.

In the direction of the Committee, Pérez will be accompanied by Elizabeth Olivero Arraéz, who will be the new Secretary of Organization, and Adriana Brito Guillén as Deputy Secretary of Organization.
