The Canaristas criticize the "acculturation" that the CC and PP governments are carrying out

For the Canaristas, "cultural events that mix foreign traditions with those of the place distort the identity of both the society from outside and that of here", citing as an example the celebration of the April Fair

Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC) wanted to make a "call for protection to the cultural and folkloric groups of Lanzarote in the face of the risk of identity involution that the decisions taken by the governments of Coalición Canaria (CC) and Partido Popular (PP) are leading us to, both in terms of foreign cultural events and in their inaction in the face of the touristification that expels the people of Lanzarote from their residential environments."

For the Canaristas, "cultural events that mix foreign traditions with those of the place are dangerous and distort the identity of both the society from outside and that of here. They cite as an example what happened at the supposed Arrecife April Fair, where this Andalusian tradition was mixed with the traditions of Arrecife and the Canary Islands." An act, they say, of "textbook acculturation" that is aggravated by the displacement of emblematic events from the center of the capital such as the Carnival, while foreign traditions occupy their traditional environment.

“Acculturation is the process by which a local culture is displaced by another with greater coercive power. Generally, this process occurs when a dominant culture is imposed socially, politically and economically on another subordinate one,” say NC-BC, who do not understand how “this process is not understood by parties that call themselves Canarian nationalists,” in relation to CC that governs in the Arrecife City Council, Island Council and Government of the Canary Islands.

Similarly, NC-BC also warn of "the inaction of CC and PP in the face of the perverse effects of mass tourism that displaces Canarians from their residential environments given the inability to acquire a home; or the substitution and sale of local businesses by large international chains."

“It is a silent substitution that either these rulers do not understand due to simple ignorance; or because they are doing it deliberately for economic and electoral purposes,” they comment from the organization.

With everything, NC-BC calls on the cultural and folkloric groups of Lanzarote to "constitute a bloc in defense of the Lanzarote and Canarian identity, always with respect for foreign cultures, but making clear the prevalence, promotion and dissemination of our own."

“There is still a lot to do in terms of Canarian culture and identity. Without going any further, a month ago the construction of a Sea Museum in Arrecife was rejected; with what it costs us two April Fairs we could have had a building to disseminate our maritime traditions,” express the Canaristas, who warn that “many of those who promote the April Fairs will come in the electoral period to talk to us about Canarian identity, defense of Lanzarote and insularity. They are opportunists who don't care about anything as long as they get votes at the cost, even, of destroying our culture.”
