The Cabildo of Lanzarote illuminated its facade to commemorate the Independence Day of Colombia on the night of Wednesday, July 20. In this way, the First Island Institution turned on the lights with the colors of the flag of the South American country.

Also, on the occasion of this important day for the Colombian people, an act was held in front of the Cabildo headquarters, which was attended by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Isabel Martín, and the Councilor for Culture, Alberto Aguiar, together with dozens of people gathered to celebrate the date.

Martín wanted to give her support and highlight "the importance of making visible the traditions and important dates of groups as numerous on the Island as the Colombian people, showing the cultural diversity that Lanzarote has".

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Cultural Association "Acciones Unidas" and the lighting was maintained from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21.
