The Cabildo could pay next week "almost all" of the debt owed to the town councils of Yaiza, Haría and Tinajo as payment of the canon of the Tourist Centers, as confirmed by the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín.

This announcement comes after a new confrontation this week between the mayor of Haría, José Torres Stinga, and the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, after Court number 5 of Administrative Litigation has admitted the appeal filed by the northern Consistory against the Cabildo, after the first institution refused to vacate the Cueva de los Verdes.

According to Jesús Machín, the Cabildo could pay "next week" a large part of the amount owed to the town councils as payment of the canon of the Tourist Centers. A debt that, between the town councils of Yaiza, Haría and Tinajo, would exceed 3.5 million euros. "If it is not all that they are going to pay, it is close," said Machín, who said that "it is good news, especially for Tinajo and Haría."

The money for this payment, according to the mayor of Tinajo, who has held several meetings with the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, could be taken through remnants or a loan that would be "about to be signed."

"The Cabildo is in a critical situation and if it has not paid the debt it is because the banks have not given it the money. I have experienced this situation for several years. With the PSOE and the PIL, I also lived the story. If that has not been paid now, it is because previously there was a waste and a lack of control of the Tourist Centers. Things have not been done well," Machín concluded.
