The Cabildo of Lanzarote has completed the reinforcement works on the pavement of the LZ-14 road, which connects Los Mármoles and Las Caletas, actions that, according to the Corporation, were "demanded due to the increase in traffic in the area and necessary due to the age of the pavement."
The island councilor of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, expressed his satisfaction with the completion of these works that are carried out with FDCAN funds. “These works were carried out in our eagerness to improve the quality and safety of the users of the island's roads, promoting the reinforcement of the pavement of the LZ-14 road, through which a large number of vehicles travel, since this road connects the capital with the tourist area of Costa Teguise”, the councilor pointed out.
“Thanks to the actions taken, we have improved the safety of the road, with new asphalt and horizontal marking elements called ‘retroreflective studs’, known as ‘cat's eyes’, which are devices generally used as a complement to road markings, capable of alerting, guiding or informing the road user”, Mendoza detailed.
The work was awarded to the company Herederos de Juan Acuña S.L. for an amount of 73,572 euros.
