The Social Welfare area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has awarded the contract for basic telecare for people in situations of dependency to the Red Cross for a period of two years, extendable for another two, and an estimated contract value of 151,200 euros.
According to the first institution, this new service guarantees coverage to a total of 150 beneficiaries from the seven municipalities of the island 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, through a terminal that will allow them to be connected to a central office from which a team of professionals will activate the best protocol to address any emergency situation.
The Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Isabel Martín Tenorio, highlights the importance of an initiative “that puts technology at the service of society and ensures immediate intervention in personal, social or medical crises to improve the quality of life and provide security to users and their families.”
The service will also offer personalized agenda functions, with reminders about the person's health, their social arrangements and health campaigns, and resolution of any doubts in the field of service and psychosocial intervention with emotional support to the user.
People with dependency in grades I, II and III who already have it determined in the proposal of the Individual Care Programs (PIA) may benefit from this service. Also, those who are on the waiting list for any service compatible with Basic Telecare (TB).
