The San Bartolomé City Council welcomed this Wednesday morning the staff in charge of surveillance and lifeguarding on the beaches of Playa Honda, a service provided by the Red Cross and which will have the support of Civil Protection San Bartolomé.
The event, before the first day in which the service is offered, was attended by the mayor, Alexis Tejera, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse, the president of the Red Cross, Tamar Luis, entity staff and members of the Civil Protection San Bartolomé.
The aquatic surveillance and lifeguarding service on the beaches of the town will be provided until October 17, from Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with three lifeguards. The bathing assistance and support service is also offered, aimed at users with reduced mobility, who may request the provision of this service by calling 928 820 308 extension 1754, 48 hours in advance, with a pick-up and return service to the home of the person using it.

In addition, the City Council has highlighted that the walkways and showers have been renovated a few months ago to improve accessibility to the beaches, which have been carried out from the Public Services area with constant cleaning of the beach and avenue, water and sand controls, improvement and improvement works that include the improvement of tree pits, painting, gardening, improvement of shade areas and street furniture, among other actions, and upcoming works that are planned such as the change of luminaires for more efficient ones.
