The Arrecife City Council plenary session has taken note this Monday of the resignation of councilors Juanjo López (Popular Party) and José Montelongo (Canarian Coalition) from their position in the council. López has decided to leave the Sports Area for "personal reasons", while Montelongo resigned after being appointed general director of the School of Social and Health Services of the Canary Islands in the Government of the Canary Islands.

Both councilors were present this Monday at the session and took the floor in their final farewells. All the spokespersons of the political forces addressed a few words to Montelongo and Torres, respectively, wishing them luck in these new stages.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, thanked José Montelongo for his initial stage as Councilor for Urban Planning, and thanked him for his willingness, after the intervention of the now general director of the Canarian Executive, for joint efforts from the Government of the Canary Islands, from matters of his Department with the City Council.

In a more personal way, being a party colleague, the mayor had emotional words towards Juanjo López, who until this Monday has been the head of the Departments of Sports, Acts and Events, and Classified Activities, where he remarked that he "regrets his resignation and praised the hard work he did in these two months, but above all because he worked almost 24 hours, every day of the week." The mayor emphasized that he accepts his personal reasons for not continuing in politics and as a councilor of the Government group.

Yonathan de León wished Juanjo López to continue with his personal goals in the world of music, and that he can combine his personal work with his family and partner.
