The Councilor for Parks, Gardens and Playgrounds of the Arrecife City Council, Roberto Herbón, spoke this Thursday on the radio program Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero to announce that in the next plenary session of the capital they will report on the purchase of a property in El Almacén square.

This property has been acquired by the council for between 55,000 and 58,000 euros. "That was already tried to be bought, I think it started in 2014 and well, in the end it has been achieved, after all it doesn't do anything there, they don't have any activity and the owners have it closed," Herbón said in the morning show Buenos días, Lanzarote.

El Almacén square, which was previously used as a parking lot, has closed access to cars and is currently used as a square, without shade or trees. It is sometimes used to host exhibitions and concerts.

After that, the council will determine the future of the property and its possible uses in the vicinity of one of the most important cultural spaces in Lanzarote.
