The Lanzarote association Tenique Cultural has reached a collaboration agreement with ESCAC (Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña), considered one of the best film schools in Spain, to develop an ambitious audiovisual training program in Lanzarote.
Thanks to this alliance, Tenique Cultural becomes an official partner and interlocutor of ESCAC on the island, thus establishing a new avenue of stable collaboration between Lanzarote and one of the benchmarks of film education in Europe.
The first of the courses to be offered in this framework is the intensive workshop Screenwriting Fundamentals, which will be held from July 14 to 18, 2025. The course will be taught by the renowned Cuban filmmaker Alan González Hernández, director of the Screenwriting Department of the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV), Cuba, one of the most prestigious audiovisual training institutions in Latin America.
It should be remembered that in 2023 the Lanzarote Film Festival, also promoted by Tenique Cultural, awarded its Honorary Award precisely to the School of San Antonio de los Baños, in recognition of its exceptional career and its key role in the training of filmmakers internationally. This new collaboration thus reinforces the ties between the Canary Islands audiovisual community and the EICTV.
This is a 42-hour course that only requires the prior payment of a 50 euro deposit, refundable at the end of the workshop if the attendance requirements have been met.
This initiative represents a unique opportunity for all those people in Lanzarote interested in training or professionalizing in the field of screenwriting, in an environment of academic excellence and with a top-level international teacher.
The collaboration between Tenique Cultural and ESCAC aims to democratize access to audiovisual training on the island, stimulate the development of the local sector and bring professional tools to new generations of creators.
