The Teguise City Council has initiated the procedure to carry out a comprehensive intervention on the perimeter walls, interior walls, and various facades of five public educational centers in the municipality, an action planned for the first half of 2026 and which will have an investment of close to 306,000 euros.
The works will benefit the CEIP Doctor Alfonso Spínola (Teguise), Ignacio Aldecoa (Caleta de Sebo), César Manrique (Tahiche), Guenia (Guatiza) and Costa Teguise, reinforcing the image and maintenance of spaces that are part of the daily lives of hundreds of schoolchildren. In the case of CEIP Costa Teguise, the intervention also includes the painting of the educational modules. Likewise, at CEIP César Manrique in Tahiche, work will also be carried out on elements related to the shaded area of the center, improving the image of its infrastructure and its aesthetic integration
The contract sets a maximum execution period of four months and will remain open to business proposals until December 9. The work includes comprehensive painting, prior repairs, and the use of materials suitable for school environments, ensuring greater durability and a renewed appearance in each facility.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, pointed out that this action "reinforces the importance of our schools in the life of the municipality" and highlighted that schools "are fundamental spaces for our boys and girls," and that therefore the City Council "maintains a firm and close commitment to continuously care for and improve them." Duque added that the investment "responds to a real demand from the educational communities and reflects the will of the Governing group to continue promoting safe, dignified environments that meet the needs of the students."
For his part, the councilor in charge of the area, Eugenio Robayna, pointed out that this intervention "allows us to continue taking care of our schools, address pending needs, and move forward with improvements that were necessary in several centers in the municipality," emphasizing that the objective is "to act in a coordinated manner and respond to what the educational communities have been proposing for some time."The City Council further emphasizes that this action is complemented by the continuous maintenance of the unitary schools, which will continue to be carried out by municipal staff to guarantee rapid interventions and constant care in these centers distributed throughout the different towns in the municipality. Finally, the City Council points out that this initiative is part of a global strategy for educational improvement and highlights that this investment "boosts Teguise's commitment to more well-maintained, safe, and attractive schools, consolidating public education as an essential pillar of municipal development".
