The Teguise City Council will publish tomorrow on its official website, the proposal for the provisional resolution of transport aid for the 2025-2026 school year, a call to which 698 students registered in the municipality have applied.

The City Council reminds applicants that they will have a period to rectify their applications from Wednesday, January 21, to Tuesday, February 3, inclusive, to submit allegations or provide the necessary documentation, in accordance with Article 8 of the Regulatory Bases.

These grants are intended to compensate for the travel expenses of students who are studying outside their place of residence, in both compulsory and post-compulsory education, and are part of the municipal commitment to equal opportunities and access to education, especially in a municipality with dispersed settlements like Teguise.

The mayor, Olivia Duque, highlighted that "these aids are a key tool to support families and ensure that no student's education is conditioned by economic reasons or distance," also emphasizing "the budgetary effort made by the City Council to respond to a real demand in the municipality."For her part, the Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, pointed out that Teguise once again positions itself as "the first town hall on the island to launch and resolve this type of aid," allocating 350,000 euros to student transportation. "We are working to ensure that the awarding and effective payment of these subsidies are carried out at the beginning of the year, with an agile, clear, and transparent procedure for families," she addedThe procedure's instruction corresponds to the technicians of the municipal services of the Department of Education, which promotes this call annually, "reinforcing the support of the governing group for education and the well-being of the municipality's students."
