The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, handed over the keys to the future headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin of Wines of Lanzarote to its president, Víctor Díaz, and the manager of the Council, Nereida Pérez, early this Thursday morning.
Following the approval in plenary session last April of the transfer of a space in the municipality of Teguise, the agreement between both entities has been signed this Thursday, which they have staged by handing over the keys to the office building located in the Agrotechnological Center of Teguise.
“Today we materialize the support that Teguise offered in its day to the Regulatory Council so that they could have a new nerve center to develop their activity in the control and food safety of Lanzarote wines and be able to serve the wine sector from Teguise, which will be an added value for this center and for the municipality,” Betancort considered.
The Regulatory Council was based in San Bartolomé, in a building ceded by that City Council, which recovered it for new municipal facilities.
