The Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinction Consortium of Lanzarote has published a public employment announcement in the Official Gazette of Las Palmas on July 7 to fill 23 firefighter positions.

The job profile description for the 23 career civil servant positions in the announcement is specifically Firefighter/Driver/Specialist/Maritime Rescue Operations Skipper.

The announcement is presented in the form of a Free Competition-Opposition, from the 2025 Public Employment Offer. Applicants will have 20 business days to submit their application from the publication of an extract of the announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The 23 positions are framed in the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Fire Extinction Class, Basic Scale, endowed with the salary corresponding to Subgroup C1.

Among the tasks to be performed by those selected are fire extinction, rescue and salvage, which involves the handling of instrumental material, the driving of vehicles and machinery, as well as the handling of rescue and salvage boats.

Therefore, it is required to be in possession of the permits that enable the driving or handling of the vehicles, machinery and boats currently existing in the Fire Stations of this Consortium.

The bases have been published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas on July 7 and can also be found on the emergency website as well as on the Consortium's notice board.

To apply, it is necessary to be in possession of the title of Baccalaureate, 2nd Grade Professional Training in the administrative branch, or equivalent qualification.

In addition, a class C + E driving license is required, without restrictive conditions limiting the weight of the vehicle, and a class B driving license. It is also necessary to have the Recreational Boat Skipper (PER) license.

Applicants must give their express consent to undergo the necessary medical and physical tests included in the call for applications, as well as any anti-doping controls that may be determined at any time by the Tribunal.

The applications to take part in the selection process will be addressed to the President of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, must conform to the model Annex I and may be submitted through the Electronic Headquarters, or in person, in the General Registry of the Consortium, from 08:00 to 14:00 hours.

Likewise, once the list of applicants who have passed the opposition phase is published on the notice board and website of the Consortium, they will have ten working days to submit the merits for the competition phase.
