The Teguise City Council has completed the main improvement works in the municipality's educational centers in preparation for the start of the new school year. Among the most notable actions is the renovation of the metal carpentry in the CEIP César Manrique de Tahiche, already completed, and in the CEIP Doctor Alfonso Spínola, in La Villa, where the works are in their final stretch.

This intervention, which has involved an investment of 271,765 euros through the Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, was a priority due to the deterioration and insulation problems of many windows. Added to this have been the painting and conditioning works in the unitary schools and in different schools in the municipality, with the aim that the educational infrastructure is practically ready to welcome students and teachers from the first day of class.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, stressed that these actions "respond to the commitment acquired with the educational community to get the schools ready before classes start." "We are starting the school year with the centers in better conditions, but also with an eye on new actions that will be developed in the coming months," she added.

Likewise, the Councilor for Works, Eugenio Robayna, announced that "in addition to completing the carpentry and painting work, we are planning other improvements that have been requested by the management teams, such as the installation of shade in the Teguise school, perimeter painting or maintenance actions in different centers."

For her part, the Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, highlighted that together with these works, painting and maintenance work has been promoted in the unitary schools and in the rest of the Teguise schools. "We are fulfilling the commitment to listen to and address the real needs of families and teaching teams," she concluded.

The objective of the City Council is to guarantee that the eleven schools in the municipality have safe, accessible spaces adapted to the current needs of education, thus contributing to the well-being of the entire educational community.
