The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has visited the expansion works of the Municipal Cemetery of La Villa Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves, in which the construction of 188 niches and 45 columbariums is being carried out.
"In anticipation of events that we cannot ignore, we are conditioning new niches and columbariums to adapt the cemeteries of Teguise to the demands of society and also take care of their facilities at a landscape level to be able to transmit the peace and tranquility that is presumed to a cemetery", Betancort declared.
The Teguise City Council awarded in October the project for the construction of 188 niches and 45 columbariums in the Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves Municipal Cemetery of the Villa de Teguise to the company Antonio Ramón Puig e Hijos S.L.U.
Oswaldo Betancort verified together with the head of the area, Eugenio Robyana, the "good pace" of the works, which have a budget of 105,000 euros, and which also contemplates maintenance, cleaning and painting works in the different spaces of the cemetery.
