The Teguise City Council has achieved two employment agreements of six months duration through which 57 people will be given work. The councilor who coordinates the Local Development Agency, Luciano Pérez, explained that these are two proposals that have a "direct impact on the quality of life of the municipality's residents."
On the one hand, the 2011 Beautification Plan begins on April 25, which will give work to 21 people full-time. Thus, eleven cleaning laborers, five painters, and five officers will be employed.
The Councilor for Roads and Works, Domingo Cejas, has assured that these new hires will "continue with the fine-tuning that the municipality is undergoing." "The localities will continue to be thoroughly cleaned and public spaces will be improved," he indicated, while explaining that this agreement is signed between the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities, the Canary Islands Employment Service, and the Teguise City Council.
The second agreement, which begins on April 28, will employ 36 people, also full-time. In this case, their work will be carried out within the framework of the "Teguise Environmental and Social" project.
This initiative will include the work of monitors, agricultural technicians, cleaning laborers, daycare caregivers, and first officers, among others. This agreement is signed between the City Council and the Canary Islands Employment Service.
