The indefinite strike announced by the cleaning workers in San Bartolomé has been suspended.

The strike announced by the cleaning workers of the company Clusa, who collect garbage in the municipality of San Bartolomé, has been called off this Tuesday morning. This has been confirmed by both the secretary of UGT in Lanzarote, César Reyes, and the mayor of San Bartolomé, Marcial Martín, on the program "Buenos Días Lanzarote", on Radio Lanzarote.

On Monday afternoon, union negotiators and company representatives sat down to negotiate and an agreement in principle was reached, which this Tuesday has been ratified first thing in the morning by the Clusa workers in San Bartolmé. Thus, these employees have gone to their jobs as normal.

Marcial Martín has expressed his "satisfaction" with the measure, but has assured that he will be "vigilant" with the quality of service. In addition, he has reproached Clusa for wanting to involve the City Council in the resolution of the conflict.

Therefore, the City Council of San Bartolomé, which pays this company monthly, could consider rescuing the service or suspending the contract with the concessionaire company.
