Somos Lanzarote has denounced a "deviation carried out by the government group of San Bartolomé (PSOE - CC and PIL) of 200,000 euros from a budget item planned for the promotion of employment, now destined to cover other expenses that in no case are equated in need".
Specifically, the credit modification, which will be taken to the plenary session this Monday, "cancels a budget item of 200,000 euros that was going to be allocated to joining an employment agreement with the Canarian Employment Service and that will now be used to increase the items of the mayor's office such as fuel and carburants, legal advice and other various expenses".
In the opinion of the formation, "in addition to manifestly demonstrating complete improvisation and lack of planning, the government group is showing signs of its irresponsibility when it comes to managing public resources".
"Far from prioritizing investing in resolving the true needs of the citizens of San Bartolomé, where there are a total of 1,286 unemployed people, they are allocated to current expenses of the mayor's office, among others, which could be compensated with other less necessary items", said Paula Corujo, spokesperson and councilor of Somos Lanzarote in San Bartolomé.
