Several businesses in the center of Arrecife have closed their doors due to the general strike this Wednesday. On Calle Real there are at least four stores that have not opened this morning, while in La Plazuela only three businesses are operating normally.

Thus, important businesses located in the center of the Lanzarote capital such as Mango, Benetton or Ambeba have decided to close their doors during this day. According to Alberto Morales, president of Felapyme, some businesses have agreed to close this Wednesday to avoid the actions of the pickets and will open their doors on Sunday.

Early in the morning, when the businesses were going to open their doors, several union members from Comisiones Obreras passed through La Plazuela to inform about the general strike. According to several merchants in the area, the strike is being experienced normally and no problems have been registered with the pickets in the center of Arrecife.
