The Social Hall of Tinajo hosted this Wednesday the constitution of the Security Board of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Los Dolores, insular patron saint of Lanzarote. This board was chaired by the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, accompanied by the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Francisco J. Aparicio, and the insular director of the General Administration of the State, Pedro Viera, among others.

In addition to them, all the consortium entities were present (city councils, Cabildo of Lanzarote and Government of the Canary Islands), the different State Security Forces and Corps such as the Civil Guard, National Police and Local Police; the emergency services; the volunteer group and the collaborating companies for the festivities.

“Like every year, this Security Board aims to join forces and plan with sufficient anticipation everything necessary to guarantee festivities without incidents, mainly on the big days of pilgrimage to Mancha Blanca, the pilgrimage or the concert days”, said the mayor, Jesús Machín, who thanked "the presence of all those who make up the board".

The president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, stated for his part “that the fundamental idea is to guarantee that the citizens of Lanzarote enjoy completely safe festivities”. “As every year, we must work in a coordinated manner with the different public and private institutions involved, also trying to affect the insular mobility as little as possible on the days of pilgrimage to Dolores”, added Aparicio.

In this sense, the drafter of the Security Plan for the festivities explained to the attendees some of the aspects to take into account for the indicated days, as well as the proposed road closures and their alternative accesses

“After this first contact, we will continue to hold different meetings to clarify any doubts and, above all, listen to the opinions of all the members of the Security Board”, said the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.
