San Borondón reappears again in Lanzarote's politics after having dissolved last June 2020 , in this case he has announced his return to local politics proclaiming Jerónimo Robayna again candidate for Mayor of Tías for the next elections of 2023.
From the formation they point out in a statement that "San Borondón (SB) “Mother-Father” wants to demonstrate that we are going to take care of you, protect you and that we will never abandon you again." "After the experience stored in these years, we are still humble and human people, also we have become more patient, affable and thoughtful people. We have learned to channel problems in a more positive way and with it obtaining better results," they add.
Robayna states that "he thinks from the heart, that it is time to give back to the people of our municipality, everything they have contributed with their work, their responsibility, their perseverance and with a lot of patience regarding our public administrations. I believe that these administrations have not lived up to the demands and expectations of the citizens."
Finally, he points out that "it is the moment that all together we build a more supportive future, where our people are reflected as the protagonist of that moment."
Breaks, internal divisions and dissolution
As it will be remembered, San Borondón decided in an assembly held in May 2020 to dissolve. "We say goodbye as a party to this conejera society, gratefully acknowledging the support received in these twelve years of life. We will not make any public statement, since whatever we say, everyone will draw their own conclusions and their half-truths. If there is anyone who knows the truth about San Borondón, it is us and we want it to remain that way," he said in that brief statement.
However, a year later in June 2021, the party was re-registered in the registry of parties of the Ministry of the Interior.
In the past elections, San Borondón ended up sealing an alliance with Coalición Canaria, for which they presented joint lists. However, only two representatives of the party managed to enter the institutions: Juan Manuel Sosa in the Cabildo and Carlos Alférez in the Yaiza City Council.
Months after the elections, Jerónimo Robayna announced that his party was breaking the alliance with CC, accusing him of having breached the agreement, and then Sosa entered the government of the Cabildo together with the PSOE and the PP.
