The appointment of the singer Rosana Arbelo as Favorite Daughter of Arrecife will take place in an extraordinary plenary session that will be held by the City Council next Friday, September 9, on the Islote de la Fermina, starting at 8:15 p.m.
Her appointment was already approved by the Plenary last April, and now this recognition will be made official. "The acceptance of this appointment by the singer and composer is a source of pride for the city, because in addition to having an impressive artistic career and great international prestige, Rosana has very high human values," says the mayor, Astrid Pérez.
As an example, she recalls that in 2020, during confinement, Rosana developed the global initiative "Better to Live Without Fear" in favor of the Red Cross to raise funds for the fight against Covid 19, and also composed in that year the song "Life is beautiful", whose benefits were entirely destined to the Spanish Association against Cancer, for the fight against breast cancer.
