The project, named "Puerto del Carmen, Tías Underwater Activities Ecological Park," which brings together sports activities related to diving, has been put out to tender for 1.39 million euros, an amount updated this year. The Tías City Council is promoting these works with a modified project to improve its viability.

The estimated value of the contract is 1,391,026.63 euros (taxes included) with a 9-month execution period to carry out engineering works and construction of properties, paving, and installation of carpentry. The project also aims to continue the pedestrian walkway of Avenida del Varadero.

Services and infrastructures will be created to allow the use of the space for underwater activities, providing shaded areas, seating, changing rooms, showers, and accessible restrooms. An outdoor area will be set up that can also accommodate residents and tourists who do not require diving services but can enjoy a viewpoint in the breakwater area.

The project includes “demountable facilities made with a wooden and bolted metal structure, and a wooden floor, supported by a light reinforced concrete foundation”.

Although the priority will be pedestrian mobility, **the roundabout will be maintained** to allow access for authorized and emergency vehicles. Parking space for bicycles will also be incorporated.
