The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, led by Vice President Jacobo Medina, will undertake an important work of renovation of the pavement on the service roads of the LZ-2 road (Arrecife-Playa Blanca), in the section that runs through Playa Honda.
This intervention will involve an investment of 587,497 euros and aims to improve one of the busiest road infrastructures on the island, thus ensuring safe and efficient traffic.
"We are talking about one of the most important arteries of Lanzarote, which supports a high volume of industrial, commercial and residential traffic daily. This work is essential to ensure safe and efficient driving for all road users," said Vice President Jacobo Medina.
Medina stressed that the deterioration of these roads is a consequence of the constant transit of vehicles, including cars, buses and trucks, which makes it necessary to undertake periodic improvements. "The passage of time and continued use inevitably deteriorate our roads. Therefore, we must invest in the renovation of our infrastructures to maintain road safety and ensure that citizens can travel safely," he added.
Details of the intervention
The work includes the application of a new layer of pavement on the road surface, which will improve the grip and resistance of the road. In addition, the renewal of protection and horizontal and vertical signage elements will be carried out, essential elements to ensure safer and more orderly traffic.
These improvements will not only benefit residents and regular drivers, but also companies and businesses in the area, contributing to a smoother and more efficient traffic flow in one of the areas with the highest economic activity on the island.
The project is part of the strategic plan for maintenance and improvement of road infrastructures of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which seeks to ensure a modern, safe and adapted road network to current needs.
With this investment, "the Public Works area reaffirms its commitment to road safety and the well-being of citizens, ensuring that the main roads of the island are maintained in the best possible conditions," they conclude.
