The PSOE of Tinajo denounces the "serious breaches" detected in the management audit of the City Council corresponding to 2024, carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands within the framework of the Canary Municipal Financing Fund. The opposition political party has highlighted that "the report confirms the non-compliance with two key indicators: net savings, which obliges resources to be allocated to sanitation instead of investment, and fiscal effort, whose non-compliance means a reduction of 10% in the freely disposable part of the Fund".
"This situation is intolerable. Tinajo is losing public resources due to poor economic management. Where are the explanations? Who assumes political responsibility for this direct harm to our neighbors?" states the socialist spokesperson, Begoña Hernández
The PSOE demands the immediate presentation of an economic sanitation plan with measures, deadlines, and responsible parties, as well as the full publication of the budgetary liquidation and the reports that have led to these breaches. Likewise, it calls for public explanations from the mayor and the councilor for Finance in an extraordinary plenary session.
“We will not allow the mayor’s lack of transparency and foresight to punish Tinajo. The citizens deserve to know why funds that should be allocated to investment, social aid, or the improvement of public services are being lost,” Hernández adds.
Hernández recalls that "this is not a technical problem, but rather political decisions with real consequences for the municipality" and warns that "despite constant blockages in access to information, he will continue to oversee the actions of the governing group to ensure responsible, transparent management oriented towards the general interest".
