Agüita Swimwear, HAMMERHØJ , GalloBuey, Oswaldo Machín and ALEXMENORCA have landed with their staging in Madrid, at the main national event for a conscious industry, IMAGINA - Jornada de Moda Sostenible Slow Fashion Next 2025, where they have announced the way to produce, create and sell in the archipelago and seek new growth opportunities in the peninsular market.

The Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid witnessed this incomparable setting that has reinforced the commitment of designers and other agents of the textile industry to new practices and to betting on models that not only respect creative processes, the planet and the people who work in the industry, but also develop more competitive models in the global fashion market.

Proexca, under the creation of the cohesive brand Canarias Islas de Moda, in collaboration with the Island Councils, has presented in this space the commitment of these five designers who are part of the Slow Fashion Canarias project, highlighting the artisan work and the form of production that characterizes the brands of the islands.

“For our company, being at this event means showing our active commitment to responsible innovation, a feeling that is linked to the essence of Lanzarote and its philosophy of understanding and respecting the environment that surrounds us,” said Oswaldo Machín, creative director of Oswaldo Machín.

For Francisco Luque of GalloBuey, participating in the Sustainable Fashion Conference “is an opportunity to share what moves us: to merge technology and craftsmanship with innovation and design a future where commitment to the environment is also part of the style.”

“Participating in this conference is giving voice to a way of creating moda with soul: garments that are not discarded because they connect. It is our opportunity to educate, excite and reduce consumption from authenticity and our essence,” said Patricia Lodos, creative director of Agüita Swimwear.

“We have secured a space for the Canary Islands to be present at a national benchmark event in sustainable fashion, highlighting the Know How that characterizes our textile sector based on principles of sustainability, circularity, artisan work and designer fashion,” concluded Paula Hernández, Foreign Promotion technician at Proexca.

IMAGINA is a space created to help professionals in the sector to stop, breathe, rethink and move forward with a clear vision. For two days, more than 60 speakers and key players from the entire value chain meet; from brands and workshops to public institutions, innovation laboratories, designers, legal experts, researchers and entrepreneurs. All of them will participate in 11 dialogue tables focused on the most urgent and structural challenges of the sector, from a practical and honest perspective.

The participation of the Canary Islands brands in this meeting takes place within the framework of the Canary Islands Month, a month with several events that transfer the Canary Islands culture to the capital of the country to publicize cultural, sports, gastronomic or, in this case, fashion activities. The idea of celebrating the Canary Islands Month, instead of just one day, arises to make visible the cultural, heritage and social diversity over several weeks. It is an opportunity for knowledge and appreciation of the culture of the islands to reach all corners of the archipelago and even cross borders.

This is the second consecutive year in which Canary Islands Day is celebrated throughout the month. On this occasion, the program includes more than 70 activities on all the islands, under the slogan Pride in who we are. The Canary Islands Month program can be consulted on the web portal of the Government of the Canary Islands, in addition to each day on the social networks of the Presidency of the Government and the areas that organize each activity.
