The Arrecife Carnival 2024, dedicated to the Wild West, will kick off on Thursday, February 1 with the Proclamation-Show by the humorist Kike Pérez. He will be the first to inaugurate the stage of the new fairground, located on the grounds of the old Agramar cannery.
"Thus begin 17 days full of events, activities, joy and fun for the whole family that will make this year's carnivals remain etched in the minds not only of the residents of Arrecife but of anyone who wants to come and experience the festivities organized by the capital's City Council through the Department of Festivities," they say from the Consistory.
Over the past few months, the mayor, Yonathan de León, and the councilor responsible for the Area, Echedey Eugenio, have stated in their numerous public appearances that Arrecife will have "finally this year the festivities it deserves as the third capital of the Canary Islands and, for this, the collaboration and contributions of each and every one of the groups and collectives has been vital."
The main novelty is, without a doubt, the location of the Fairground, where all the contests and other mass events will take place; but there will be many more novelties that will surprise all the masquerades. Among them, on February 3, the first itinerant Carnival will be held with four music and stall areas (Rotonda del Gran Hotel, Muelle de la Pescadería, Puente de Las Bolas and La Recova). It will be the first of the day carnivals, because this year, for the first time, there will be two more: the Porteño Carnival on February 10 and Piñata Saturday on the 17th.
And, in addition, this 2024 the Drag Gala returns in contest format (February 8), the I Senior Gala will also be held and La Recova will host themed parties every Friday (February 2 Wild West Party, February 9 Rainbow Party and February 16 Barbie Party).
Among the planned concerts, Omar Montes, Laritza Bacallao, Manny Manuel or David de María will delight their fans.
These events will be added to the Grand Parade of Floats, which will take place on February 12 (From the Sports City to Agramar), the Burial of the Sardine, which will be on February 14 (From the roundabout of the Gran Hotel to La Rocar) and other great events present every year such as the traditional Carnival with Los Buches, the Porteño Carnival, Piñata Saturday, the adult and children's Murgas contests, exhibition of comparsas, parade of comparsas and batucadas, costume contests or workshops and children's entertainment.
The mayor, Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, encourage the population to "enjoy these festivities with civility and responsibility."
