"The fact of being born in the Canary Islands does not give any deputy the power to arrogate the defense of the islands in Europe", because "Ciudadanos has shown that with two deputies the islands and the rest of Spain can be defended in the European Parliament". This was stated this Saturday in an act in Lanzarote by the Cs candidate for the European Parliament, Javier Nart.
"In the European institutions, and in Parliament, there will be a non-sectarian response from all Spanish deputies", because "in the European Chamber we work together for the benefit of Spain's interests", and that is what "has been done in this legislature, working together for a common goal".
"Beyond the medals, there are the interests of the Spanish people, and that requires unity", added Nart, who recalled that "he is also from the Canary Islands, because as a Spaniard he has defended the interests of all".
"Ciudadanos was born in Catalonia to defend equality, unity and solidarity".
The candidate for the European Parliament has also highlighted "the figure of César Manrique", whom he "defined as a genius who knew how to revolutionize tourism, betting on sustainable tourism that respects nature".
In this sense, he stated that "he has been a regular visitor to Lanzarote for 35 years, and that he knows it by land and by sea", as he has practiced scuba diving all over the island.
For her part, the Cs candidate for the Parliament of the Canary Islands for Lanzarote, Carmen Pellón, has defended that "Lanzarote cannot be at the bottom of everything, but must have the same opportunities", so she explained that "policies must be made to improve Education, Health, and social policies".
"We must help the self-employed and small and medium-sized companies that generate employment in the islands", he added.
And he invited the people of Lanzarote to vote and support Ciudadanos because "if you don't do politics, someone will do it for you, and we have already seen the result of the years of government of CC on the island, supported by PP and PSOE".
Finally, the candidate for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, David Rodríguez, has assured that "Ciudadanos has great challenges on the island", including the Island Plan for Territorial Planning and providing legal certainty to farmers and winemakers of La Geria, so that "they can carry out their activity".
"The Canary Islands are at stake in Europe and that is why they need a centrist party, such as Ciudadanos", he concluded.
