The seven town councils of Lanzarote have achieved, for the first time, an average grade of outstanding, with a 9.02, in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands (#ITCanarias), according to the Transparency Commissioner. Thus surpassing last year's grade, which reached a "high notable".
Specifically, the town councils of Tías, Teguise and Arrecife were the ones that obtained the highest score in transparency, with 9.96, 9.92 and 9.90 respectively. San Bartolomé, for its part, obtained a 9.40, while the Yaiza City Council reached a 9.23.
The town councils of Lanzarote that obtained the lowest score in the evaluations of the Transparency Commissioner are Haría and Tinajo, with 7.91 and 6.83 respectively.

"The portals of the town councils have improved a lot in the last two years. But the goal now is to improve the fulfillment of the responses of the administrations to the questions of the citizens," says Daniel Cerdán, Commissioner of Transparency of the Canary Islands.
The ITCanarias measures the greater or lesser degree of compliance with the information obligations contemplated in the Transparency Law of the Canary Islands by the 347 public entities of the Archipelago, by 706 private entities, subsidized with more than 60,000 euros per year, and by 66 professional associations and chambers of commerce. And it is defined by the self-evaluation of these entities with the collaboration of more than 1,463 people authorized to upload information through the electronic headquarters of the Commissioner, where more than 2.2 million data were inserted last year.
Of the 347 public portals, 88 are from Canarian town councils and another 102 are from public entities dependent on them.
