The Popular Party has proposed councilor Juan Monzón as a candidate for mayor of Yaiza at the press conference held this Thursday morning at the Insular Headquarters, in Arrecife.
"I want to thank the Popular Party for the trust placed in me and in our team and above all in the possibility that I lead this list to the Mayor's Office of the Yaiza City Council. I am surrounded by a great team, a team with desire, with enthusiasm, just as I have to work for the good of the municipality of Yaiza. And I especially want to thank my colleague Guayo, a colleague who, in the responsibility of councilors in the opposition, have managed to demonstrate the capacity of the Popular Party, always ensuring and extending a hand to the government group for the improvement of our municipality", Monzón said at the beginning of his speech.
The PP councilor in Yaiza has listed works that should be carried out to improve the municipality. "We are aware of the problems that the current government has been unable to solve to this day. Such as the imminent need to provide public housing for our residents and workers. It cannot be that those who decide to work in our municipality cannot carry out these tasks because they do not have a place to reside in Yaiza".
Monzón also pointed out that it is necessary to "provide greater security to the Local Police with new agent positions", improve public transport, "something that is still lacking today", improve the cleanliness of the municipality, which has been "unable to tender that necessary service" and measures related to education, such as the "launch of the famous nursery".
Regarding the current situation of the municipality, Monzón has launched a strong message: “We cannot have first-class and second-class neighbors, so the priority of any government must undoubtedly be to advance towards an integrated municipality that offers a good quality of life for all; because we also have the foundations and the potential to make it possible.”
For her part, Ástrid Pérez pointed out that from the PP they are "convinced that Juan Monzón is going to win the elections" and added that "they are going to get a close, humble mayor, with a great capacity to form a team and who listens to the neighbors".
Pérez has also valued the work carried out during this mandate by the two municipal representatives of the PP, "extending a hand to the government in everything that will be positive for the neighbors and also being very demanding when it comes to claiming and defending the most important demands that a municipality as unique and with realities as different as Yaiza has.”
