José Francisco Hernández: The PP is prepared to govern Tías with ideas and solutions

The El Fondeadero Civic Center in Puerto del Carmen hosted this weekend, with a hall full of public, the presentation of José Francisco Hernández as candidate of the Popular Party for the Mayor of Tías. Pancho, as he is popularly known, is the eldest of six siblings, is married, has two children and is a public transport and taxi professional with more than twenty years of experience. For years he has been closely linked to sports clubs and associations in the municipality and on the Island. In recent legislatures he has been the PP's spokesperson in the Tías Consistory.

The leader of the Lanzarote Popular Party, Astrid Pérez, stressed, during the event, the numerous qualities that Pancho has, among which are, "the enormous vocation of public service, work and honesty". Pérez pointed out that "thanks to the good work and perseverance of Pancho and his strong team, the PP in Tías is a large and united party, which has not only increased, year after year, the number of members, but also, election after election, has increased the number of voters and councilors". "I am convinced that next May we will win the elections in Tías by an absolute majority. These are our elections, because the citizens are asking for them. If there is a municipality that is asking for change, it is Tías," she concluded.

"The change that Tías needs"

During his speech, the regional president of the PP, José Manuel Soria, also valued "the work that the Popular Party has carried out in Tías in recent years, which has led them in the past elections to practically snatch the majority from the Socialist Party. Tías is a great municipality that sounds like change, a change that has to come from the hand of Pancho, because together with his team he has shown that thanks to serious and rigorous work things can be changed," he declared.

For Soria, the popular candidate for the Tías Town Hall "is an example of patience, persistence and perseverance, values that will help him a lot as future mayor of Tías". The leader of the Canary Islands Popular Party stressed that the Popular Party in Tías has "become a strong party thanks to the confidence of the citizens and is the alternative to the change that the municipality needs. There have been too many years of socialist government," he stressed.

"A ruined town hall"

José Francisco Hernández, popular candidate for the Tías Town Hall, assumed the commitment to continue working for the well-being and the interests of all the residents of the municipality. "From the Popular Party we are prepared to govern Tías with ideas and solutions, since the residents feel deceived and cheated by the decisions taken by the socialist mayor who has governed the municipality in the last 16 years".

Hernández explained that the socialist policies have led the Tías Town Hall to suffocation and economic ruin, placing the consistory as one of the most indebted corporations in the Canary Islands, with almost 28 million euros in debts.

"Reduction of taxes and salaries"

"The reduction of taxes and the efficient management of economic resources should be, in these moments of crisis, the priorities of a municipal government", said José Francisco Hernández. For the candidate of the Popular Party, despite undertaking a policy of austerity in public spending, "the economic items destined to attend Social Services will be maintained".

Hernández also pointed out that one of his first measures will be the reduction of the salaries of public officials, as well as a clear and determined commitment to ensure that the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen becomes the economic engine of the municipality again. "We need to promote measures that boost our local economy and create, with it, the much-needed employment," he concluded.
