Ismael García is another of the singers who join this year the wide range of artists who will perform at the IV edition of the Isla de Lanzarote Song Festival, which will take place in the month of April in the municipality of Tinajo.
The former contestant of the musical talent show "Operación Triunfo", Ismael García Sarmiento, from Mataró, finished seventh in the television contest from among more than 22,000 people who attended the casting.
At the age of eleven he participated in a TVE program called 'Tu Gran Día', where he sang "Melancolía" by Camilo Sesto. At the age of twelve he managed to be a semifinalist in the Antena3 program 'Menudas Estrellas' singing songs by Luis Miguel. Already at 16 years old, he participated in "Gente de Primera", a TVE program where established artists sponsored unknown singers. His godmother was Marta Sánchez and together they sang her song "La belleza" and individually he competed with the song "Getsemaní" from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
In 2006 he presented himself to the casting of "Operación Triunfo" and finished in seventh place, after spending more than three months training at the academy and performing weekly live for Tele5 during prime time. For this reason, the songs he sang in the galas of the program were published, and he participated with several songs in the album "Adelante" that took him on tour throughout the Spanish geography with eleven concerts in 'Gira Adelante'.
Later, he started a project on Disney Channel as the leading actor of a television series called "Cambio de Clase". He will also be the new image of Disney in Spain, since he will make a film and the recording production of two albums with Walt Disney Iberia.
