Students at CEO Montaña Roja, which had to close its doors on December 15th due to ceiling collapses and leaks caused by the rain, continue to be unable to attend classes. Specifically, the Secondary building, which houses ESO classes and the Basic Vocational Training Cycle, was the one affected by this damage, so since then classes have been non-face-to-face and conducted remotely.

From the Insular Directorate of Education in Lanzarote, they have stated to La Voz that "its opening, in theory, will be soon, but we have to see how the works are progressing and wait to hear what the technicians say." However, they have not been able to give a specific date for when students will return to in-person classes.

Last December, as *La Voz* published, the center itself informed through the Canary Islands Government's Education page that **they planned to reopen the classrooms this Thursday, January 8**, assuring that "taking into account the arrival of the holiday period, the workers will have time to carry out the necessary repairs and these two stages will be able to return to the classrooms on January 8 safely," **something that has not finally happened**In a new statement addressed to families on January 7, it is reported that "due to the fact that the repair work is not sufficiently advanced to guarantee the safety of students and teachers in the Secondary module, we find ourselves obliged to maintain non-face-to-face teaching activities in ESO and CFGB for the remainder of the week."In this regard, they point out to families that they should stay tuned for updates to find out if students "will be able to return to classrooms **on Monday the 12th or if they will have to wait a little longer**".
