The Yaiza City Council publishes this Friday the tender to execute the comprehensive modernization project of Jaime Quesada street in Playa Blanca, the main access road to the town center, which requires an estimated investment of 1.9 million euros.

With this action, Yaiza intends to condition the first open commercial and residential area of the tourist nucleus, offering solutions to improve the quality of urban space and promoting vehicular mobility towards parking areas.

Companies interested in bidding for the contract can submit offers until Monday, November 30, 2026. The project includes the asphalting of the street, the renovation of urban furniture, lighting, and pavement, expansion of sidewalks, provision of shaded areas, and also restricts vehicular traffic, as Jaime Quesada street will have a single direction of vehicular circulation from north to south (downhill).

The Councilor for Public Works of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, assures that "this initiative enhances pedestrian mobility, with the aim of favoring local commerce and the walks of residents, who will enjoy a comfortable, renovated space without architectural barriers that invites them to make the urban space their own."

Apart from this new investment in Playa Blanca, Yaiza is currently carrying out the comprehensive conditioning of Avenida Papagayo and is enabling new parking areas (2.6 million), is asphalting and carrying out accessibility works on seven streets in Las Coloradas (1 million), and is completing the rehabilitation works of the entrance to Playa Blanca from Femés (1.3 million).
