The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and also president of the Board of Directors of the Tourist Centers, María Dolores Corujo, celebrates that the popular El Diablo restaurant, located in the Fire Mountains, has been cataloged as https://www.lavozdelanzarote.com/ekonomus/gourmet/national-geographic-elige-restaurante-diablo-como-mas-impresionantes-mundo_218222_102.htmlone of the six most impressive places in the world to eat by the National Geographic publication.
In a press release, the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers (CACT) of Lanzarote have highlighted the description offered by the prestigious publication: “Its dishes, cooked with superheated steam that escapes from an active volcano in the Timanfaya National Park” and "a desolate volcanic landscape that could easily resemble the planet Mars", make the space transformed by César Manrique a place that brings everything together to enjoy an "unforgettable" meal.
Dolores Corujo has emphasized “the pride that we must share for a recognition of a prescriber of this dimension that becomes, at the same time, a promotional campaign for the island and for the Tourist Centers of incalculable value.”
She also added that “El Diablo is a jewel, a sample of the spontaneous creativity of Cesar Manrique; a resounding example of the talent of a genius who was able to imagine a unique restaurant in a magical natural space from a cup of coffee.”
For his part, the CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, agreed with Corujo regarding “an advertising action of this caliber”, and wanted to thank the workers of the Center “for their effort, enthusiasm and permanent commitment so that the Fire Mountains always look as Manrique imagined them.”
