The new Executive Commission of Coalición Canaria Lanzarote, established on May 24 during the celebration of the VII Island Congress, held its first working meeting last week, chaired by the general secretary of CC in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Pedro San Ginés.

During the meeting, key issues for the start of the new term were addressed. Among them, the approval of the schedule for the renewal of the Local Committees stands out, which will take place between the months of July and September, thus complying with the deadlines established in the regulations of the nationalist organization. In addition to their renewal, the committees must elect the remaining 40% of the members that will make up the Island Political Council.

Another relevant point was the approval of different work plans for the executive secretariats, some of them newly created, with the aim of strengthening the political, organizational and communicative action of the party on the island.

The Executive also empowered Pedro San Ginés to initiate a round of contacts and conversations with all local political forces in Lanzarote, framed within the political strategy for the 2027 elections. This line of work, as stated by the general secretary himself, “responds to the need to establish bridges of dialogue with all the island's political actors in order to build a solid, majority project that guarantees the institutional stability that Lanzarote needs to move forward.”

Likewise, the appointment of the deputy general secretary, Samuel Martín, as the new manager-administrator was proposed, a designation that must be ratified soon by the Island Political Council.

For Pedro San Ginés, “this first meeting has served to activate the party machinery, with a clear roadmap and a renewed structure, which aspires to be up to the challenges that Lanzarote and La Graciosa have ahead. We are aware of the social, economic and political context that the island is experiencing, and we assume the commitment to work from now on with responsibility, unity and ambition to offer answers and solutions.”

Coalición Canaria Lanzarote thus advances in the consolidation of a new stage that, in the words of its general secretary, “should be the reflection of a strong, cohesive organization in permanent contact with the citizens.”
