The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, defended this Tuesday the need to raise salaries and better redistribute wealth when asked about the demonstration that will take place this Sunday on all the islands under the slogan Canary Islands has a limit.

Fernando Clavijo, in statements to the media, has advocated for these changes "since he took office" and stressed that "the Government continues to work, regardless of whether there are obviously groups that understand that more needs to be done or that it needs to be done in another way and want to express it that way."

The president has detailed that meetings have been called to work on "that revision of the model and the transfer of wealth", one specifically on the demographic challenge.

He also announced that this Tuesday he is traveling to Brussels precisely to be able to talk about the residence law and European policies to facilitate access to housing at a reasonable price.

In addition, he commented that he "respects the demonstrations, since it is a right in democracy."
