Coalición Canaria-San Borondón (CC-SB) has proposed to the Tías Town Council plenary session to urge the Cabildo of Lanzarote to "urgently" launch the on-demand taxi service in the town of Masdache, and to carry out "a mobility study for the creation of an urban transport service within Puerto del Carmen similar to that of Playa Blanca".
For the nationalist spokesperson, Amado Vizcaíno, "the fact that the town of Masdache remains isolated and that the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen lacks an urban line are still the pending issues that the island has in terms of transport in the municipality of Tías."
"The residents of Masdache have been demanding a public transport service for a long time to end the isolation they have suffered for years, but despite the fact that there is already a resolution from the Cabildo plenary session urging to find a solution to this problem through an on-demand taxi service, everything remains the same today," he says.
On the other hand, regarding Puerto del Carmen, Vizcaíno believes that the solution does not involve the service being covered by the intercity lines that come from Arrecife. "There are many residents who arrive late to work or are forced to take a taxi to arrive on time, since many times the buses are full and do not pick up more passengers," says the councilor.
Likewise, Amado Vizcaíno clarifies that "the previous group insisted on numerous occasions on the need to develop a mobility study to launch a preferential stop in La Tiñosa, as a bus station, where urban and intercity transport could be combined, thus removing vehicles from Avenida de las Playas to give more fluidity to traffic and offer a better public transport service".
