The Government Council of the Canary Islands authorized in its session this Monday an expenditure of 3,843,738.72 euros to the Ministry of Health for the contracting of the comprehensive renovation work of the power plant at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital, in Lanzarote.

The contracting process will be carried out through an open procedure, ordinary processing, and the works will have an execution period of eight months. The set of works and installations necessary for the comprehensive renovation of the hospital's power plant will be structured in four phases for the transfer of existing lines, assembly of the new distribution and transformation center, assembly of the emergency group and new general panels, and their progressive energization by circuits.

However, given the characteristics of the works, it is considered more appropriate not to divide the contracting into lots, as it is a work that must be delivered as a whole, not in independent phases, and whose execution is facilitated in terms of safety and coordination if it is carried out by a single contractor.

The proposed expenditure, amounting to 3,843,738.72 euros, including IGIC (7%), is distributed in two annuities of 1,301,685.33 euros in 2025 and 2,192,622.60 euros in 2026, and exceeds three million euros, so it must be authorized by the Government of the Canary Islands, in accordance with the provisions of the General Budget Law of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for 2025.
