Borja Rubio, former councilor of Somos Lanzarote in Arrecife, has been appointed advisor to the General Directorate of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands.

According to the Transparency Portal of the regional Executive, his appointment took place on October 4 by order of the vice president of the Canarian Government, Román Rodríguez, although it had not been revealed until now. In this regard, it should be remembered that Somos Lanzarote ran in alliance with NC in the local and regional elections in May.

The Government of the Canary Islands indicates that his tasks, to which Borja Rubio has confirmed to La Voz that he has already joined, are to "provide technical and/or political assistance to the vice president of the Government and carry out studies commissioned by him." Likewise, the regional Executive highlights his career as councilor and spokesperson for Somos Lanzarote in the Arrecife City Council between 2015 and 2019 and as advisor to the Cabildo between 2014 and 2015.
