Astrid Pérez, will preside this Thursday in Brussels her first plenary session as president of the Conference of Regional Legislative Assemblies of the EU, likewise the Committee of the Regions will also meet. The Calre groups together 69 regional parliaments from 7 Member States

Astrid Pérez, who was elected president unanimously last January, has set herself the goal of European regions having a key role in the budget of the European Union. For this reason, she will propose a work plan "with the clear purpose of strengthening cooperation between our Regional Legislative Assemblies and reinforcing our voice within the European framework," she pointed out.

In the Assembly, the president will present a joint manifesto in which the contributions and demands of the regions have been combined, reflecting the priorities and concerns regarding the next Multiannual Financial Framework 2027-2034. "This is a manifesto that collects and synthesizes the common aspirations that serve as a tool to dialogue with European institutions regarding decisions about the next budget," said Astrid Pérez.

These meetings in Brussels will serve to reinforce and create new working groups aligned with the priorities of the Strategic Agenda 2024-2029, highlighting territorial cohesion as one of the priorities.

The event will take place at the European Committee of the Regions located in the Jacques Delors building Rue Belliard / Belliardstraat in Brussels at 09.30 hours. For its part, the Assembly will be at 11.30 hours.
