The Department of Transparency of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Cathaysa Suárez, was the protagonist of the recognition awarded this Thursday at the headquarters of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, where Suárez received the prestigious "Award for Excellence in Digital Transparency in the Canary Islands X Anniversary".
This award, presented by the Commissioner for Transparency and Public Information Access of the Canary Islands, María Noelia García Leal, recognizes the work carried out by the Department in improving and consolidating municipal transparency.
The award recognizes the sustained commitment of the Arrecife City Council to the accessibility of public information, after having achieved the highest rating in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands (ITCanarias) in three consecutive evaluations carried out by the Commissioner.
Cathaysa Suárez highlights the importance of recognition and states that "receiving this award on behalf of the City Council is a source of pride and motivation. It reflects the effort that we from the Transparency Department have been making to ensure citizens have clear, up-to-date, and accessible information. We will continue working to strengthen our neighbors' trust in public management."
The recognition, awarded exceptionally within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the Commissioner for Transparency and Public Information Access, rewards entities that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to digital transparency over the past decade.
For Suárez, "this award reaffirms our roadmap to continue improving our transparency portals and tools, implementing practices that facilitate more active citizen participation and greater democratic control."
With this achievement, the Department of Transparency consolidates Arrecife as a benchmark in open public management and accountability in the Canary Islands.
