The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Abigail González, has launched a new transportation service for students in the Enclave Classrooms of various educational centers in the municipality. With this measure, the municipal area responds to a fundamental need that will allow these students to regularly attend their educational and leisure activities outside the center, under equal conditions.
The initiative will cover the weekly transportation of the groups to activities such as sessions at the municipal pool, which are part of their educational and therapeutic program. This service will begin operating in November and will remain active until May, except for vacation and holiday periods. With this, the Area directed by Abigail González guarantees the continuity and organization of an activity highly anticipated by the minors and their families.
Abigail González emphasizes that "from the Education Department, what we have done is cover a real need of these students, ensuring that they can travel to their weekly activities in a comfortable and safe manner. We have provided them with an adapted transportation service, and both the students and the adults who accompany them are very satisfied because we are responding to an issue that concerned them."
The new service will benefit the Aula Enclave groups from centers such as CEIP La Destila, CEIP Benito Méndez, CEIP Titerroy, CEIP Nieves Toledo, CEO Argana, and IES Las Salinas, who will travel to the municipal swimming pool each week according to their schedule, always accompanied by their teaching and support staff.
The councilwoman adds that this action "is a sign of our commitment to educational inclusion and equal opportunities. We want all boys and girls to be able to enjoy their activities without transportation being an obstacle."
